Individual Therapy for Men
Hello guys and welcome!
You have found yourself here for a reason and you owe it to yourself to follow through. Before your conditioning kicks in and you flee from this site, consider the array of social, family and peer pressures that are manipulating you toward that “I am strong and I don’t need help” façade. If you are human (like the rest of us) chances are that this “exist powerfully and prosper outside the normal boundaries of life” is not working up to its promised potential. You believed it to be true – work hard, don’t complain, move forward, plan, solve and you will succeed. So what’s the problem then?
If men were built to live free of emotional needs, the above formula would work out nicely. Physically and mentally, men are built for the challenge. The failure in the equation exists at the emotional level. In fact, the emotional part is the core. It’s your foundation. Call it vulnerable, cheesy, for wimps – whatever you want. But explaining it away is like denying that you have a nervous system. Simply, you without emotional needs just isn’t true. The longer you fight it, the weaker you will become. Ironic, isn’t it?
Men attend therapy for many different reasons. At Therapy Core, we see men (and boys) for issues such as depression, anger, failed relationships, time and stress management, loneliness, anxiety, career/school transitions, adjustments to difficult life events (divorce, loss, financial struggles, illness, pressures, parenting, etc.), sexual un-fulfillment, intimacy and commitment difficulties, etc.
Your first step as a new client is to send an email or make a phone call to Therapy Core. After your questions have been answered, you will set up an appointment time for an intake. This meeting runs for 60-90 minutes and information about your specific needs is gathered. From here, a treatment plan is established between you and your therapist. You will have a clear understanding of what therapy will be like and what you can expect to gain. Sessions generally meet one or two times per week for 60 minutes per session. Therapy Core does not accept insurance but you will be provided a bill for services so that you are able to access out-of-network benefits from your insurance carrier.
Continue to take a look around at who we are and what we offer. Then make that call. It could just be the smartest thing you ever did for yourself.
